Every day Ontario’s real estate professionals are called upon to help individuals, couples and families make the largest purchase of their life. The only educational prerequisite to enrolling in the registration education program is a high school diploma.
Other professional organizations insist on high academic admission requirements. Professions like lawyers and architects require a Canadian undergraduate degree, or a specified number of university credit hours. Alternate relevant business experience and/or foreign academic qualifications are an option, subject to fully-documented criteria. Admission requirements are not always limited to scholastic records, but may include other stipulations such as aptitude tests and screening interviews.
Our membership data shows that 69% of REALTORS® already have a post-secondary degree or diploma. Making it a requirement is a reasonable standard to set and the majority of REALTORS® already meet it.
Require any future admissions to the registration education program to have post-secondary education (university degree or college diploma).
Should post-secondary education be a requirement to enroll in the registration education program?
